How to Motivate Yourself
What is Motivation?
Motivation is crucial when setting and achieving those goals, for example, start vertical jump workout. Without motivation, an individual will procrastinate in all activities and may end up failing to meet their set objectives. No matter how experienced we may be, or how high our status is in life, we all need the motivation to do more exercises to jump higher and stay on track with our goals.
How to Motivate Yourself with 6 Steps:
1. Get rid of fear
Fear can hinder your goals, it kills your motivation and can be very exhausting. It is normal to have negative thoughts sometimes or to feel like we are inadequate or do not deserve something. This should not hinder you, get rid of that fear of achieving a goal just because you are afraid of failing. Fear keeps you in a state f constant worry instead of action, and this invariably leads to exhaustion. Change your perception of failure, and realize that you didn’t fail, you just postponed your success for a short while.
2. Define your goals
After changing your opinion and getting rid of your fear, the next step is defining your goals. Whatever the goal may be, whether it is weight loss, education, or career, the goals should be established in a plan to help you achieve them better. I recommend setting your goal on exercises to increase vertical jump.
3. Focus on one goal
It may be difficult to concentrate on a ton of goals at the same time, and you may end up losing all or procrastinating every day. It is better to pursue one goal at a time and focus on that particular goal. Spreading your focus over a dozen goals is not advisable. Think about it: if you will stop – the whole vertical jump training will go to waste.
4. Make it fun
Doing something or an activity that you love will make achieving your goal a lot easier. Whatever you are planning on achieving, make it fun because the more enjoyable it is, the easier it will be to do it. And you will get better at it with time because you love it.
5. Read a book
Reading a motivational message in a book will help you to remain fixed on achieving your goal. Also, reading about the goal you want to could inspire you to work harder towards achieving it. For example, reading a book on success such the one of Dr. Ben Carson of how he struggled academically but became a well-known brain surgeon can push you to work harder towards your goals no matter how difficult they may seem. Also reading about the experiences of other people and how they overcame their fears could give the required boost to keep your motivation high. Listening to motivational speeches and motivational messages will also do the trick. I know there is a lot of books about “how to increase vertical jump” – read them!
6. Reward yourself
All humans love to be rewarded for their acts; you can also reward yourself after a while to keep the fire of your motivation burning. It is not easy to make a lot of money or to lose weight or to get a degree and may take some time. This does not mean that you should not get short-term rewards as you await the ultimate reward for your hard work. You can reward yourself with points or treats, and it may be a well-deserved massage or a road trip. It may even be getting new clothes for yourself, or a new hairdo.
Motivation is necessary for the achievement of any goal. However, it may be difficult to gather motivation because of the long process or fear of failure. By getting rid of fear, planning, having fun and reading for inspiration.
